Running xPilot Over a Network

You can run xPilot over a network in two common ways:

  1. Use one main X-Plane machine with additional visual machines.
  2. Run the xPilot client on a different computer from the one running X-Plane.

Visual Machines

If you use multiple computers for X-Plane visuals, follow these steps:

  1. Install the xPilot plugin on every computer running an X-Plane visual instance.

  2. Start xPilot on the main machine and use .visualip followed by the IP addresses of the visual machines. For example: .visualip 192.168.1.50 192.168.1.60

  3. Restart xPilot so the changes take effect.

The configured visual machine IP addresses are saved for future use. To clear them, run .visualip without any IP addresses.

Running the Client on a Separate Computer

If you want to run the xPilot client on a different computer from the one running X-Plane, use the .simip command.

Run xPilot on the separate computer, then enter .simip <X-Plane_IP> to point xPilot to the machine running X-Plane. For example: .simip 192.168.1.100

To clear the configured simulator IP address, run .simip without any IP address.
